Tim Cook: India Among Apple's Best Global Markets as June Quarter Records Revenue

Apple posted a record June quarter in India, with chief executive Tim Cook identifying the country among its best-performing markets globally, according to Business Today. Reporting from the company's earnings call, Business Today said Cook told investors that Apple achieved June-quarter revenue records across every geographic segment, including India, the US, China mainland, Japan, Southeast Asia, Latin America and Western Europe. Apple also posted double-digit growth in most emerging markets, the publication reported.

India emerged as one of Apple's strongest-performing Mac markets during the June quarter, according to Business Today.

Record June Quarter Across Geographies

The Business Today report, filed from New Delhi, said India emerged as one of Apple's strongest-performing Mac markets during the quarter. Chief financial officer Kevan Parekh said the Mac business generated a record $10.4 billion in global revenue, up 29% year-on-year, driven by the MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro. Parekh added that India recorded strong double-digit Mac growth and was among the markets where Mac had its best-ever quarter for both first-time buyers and customers upgrading from older devices.

Metric Reported figure
Mac global revenue $10.4 billion, up 29% year-on-year
India Mac growth Strong double-digit
Geographic segments with June-quarter revenue records India, US, China mainland, Japan, Southeast Asia, Latin America, Western Europe
Emerging markets revenue growth Double-digit growth in most
India-specific revenue figure Not disclosed in the report

India's Dual Role in Apple's Ecosystem

The earnings-call comments reinforce India's growing importance to Apple not only as a manufacturing base but also as one of its fastest-growing consumer markets, where the company continues to expand its premium product ecosystem, according to Business Today. Apple's premium Mac lineup — including the MacBook Neo and MacBook Pro — drove the global revenue record in the category, with India contributing strong double-digit growth, Parekh said during the call.

Cook named India alongside the US, China mainland, Japan, Southeast Asia, Latin America and Western Europe as segments that set June-quarter revenue records, Business Today reported. The company also posted double-digit growth in most emerging markets during the quarter.

Analyst View: Counterpoint on India's Growth Drivers

According to Counterpoint Research, Apple's India performance was driven by strong MacBook Neo adoption, alongside continued demand for the iPhone 17 series, even as iPhone supplies remained constrained. The research firm expects Apple to post single-digit volume growth but double-digit value growth in India during calendar year 2026.

  • Primary growth driver: Strong MacBook Neo adoption
  • Sustained demand: iPhone 17 series
  • Supply constraint: iPhone supplies remained constrained
  • CY2026 forecast: Single-digit volume growth; double-digit value growth

Counterpoint's outlook implies value growth in India will outpace unit growth during calendar 2026. The forecast, combined with the record June-quarter revenue performance cited by Apple, underscores India's position in the company's global growth mix, as reported by Business Today.

The article was written by Aabhas Sharma and published by Business Today on the Times of India platform. No standalone India revenue figure was disclosed for the June quarter.
