Yangzijiang Maritime bulker quartet lifts contracted vessel sales to $500m

Yangzijiang Maritime Development agreed to sell four newbuild bulkers, lifting contracted vessel sales to $500m across 12 ships in nine months. Yangzijiang Maritime bulker quartet lifts contracted vessel sales to $500m

Yangzijiang Maritime Development has agreed to sell four newbuild bulkers, taking the Singapore-listed company's contracted vessel sales to $500m across 12 ships in nine months, according to Splash247.

Splash247 reported that Yangzijiang Maritime Development has agreed to sell four 40,000 dwt newbuild bulkers, with delivery scheduled between April 2027 and May 2028. The company did not disclose the buyer or the value of the latest contracts. The bulker sale follows two rounds of MR tanker disposals.

Tanker sale programme

Ahead of the company's SGX debut last November, Yangzijiang Maritime agreed a $180m sale of four 49,800 dwt newbuild MR tankers, according to Splash247. The first vessel in that batch was delivered on July 30, with another due in November and the remaining pair set to follow in 2027.

In April, Yangzijiang Maritime signed contracts to sell another four 49,800 dwt MR newbuilds for delivery in 2027 and 2028, Splash247 reported. At the same time, the company committed to eight 319,000 dwt VLCC newbuilds scheduled to arrive between 2028 and 2030. The latest bulker deal follows both prior tanker rounds, bringing the disclosed vessel sales programme to 12 ships.

Expected financial contribution

Yangzijiang Maritime said the 12 contracted vessel sales are expected to contribute across 2026, 2027 and 2028, subject to completion and delivery schedules, Splash247 reported. Buyer and price details for the bulker quartet have not been disclosed.
