HappyRobot's $150M Series C Makes It FreightTech's Newest Unicorn

HappyRobot raised $150 million in a Series C led by Prysm Capital and Eurazeo at a $1.2 billion post-money valuation, becoming FreightTech's newest unicorn just 20 months after its first round. The company's AI agents now handle phone calls, emails, and follow-ups across more than 150 enterprise customers, including DHL and Uber Freight.

HappyRobot's $150M Series C Makes It FreightTech's Newest Unicorn

FreightTech has a new unicorn, and it took 20 months to build. According to FreightWaves, HappyRobot closed a $150 million Series C at a $1.2 billion post-money valuation, putting a price on the idea that AI agents can absorb the phone calls, emails and follow-ups that move freight. The round was led by Prysm Capital and co-led by Eurazeo, with existing investors Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Y Combinator, Koch Disruptive Technologies and WaVe-X — the corporate venture capital arm of Austria's WALTER GROUP — coming back in.

A 20-month sprint to $200 million

The pace behind the valuation is significant. HappyRobot has raised roughly $200 million across three rounds in 20 months, growing 5x since its Series B closed in late 2025, according to FreightWaves. It now runs agents inside more than 150 enterprise customers, including DHL, Uber Freight, Kuehne+Nagel and Austria's LKW WALTER.

Metric Figure
Series C amount $150 million
Post-money valuation $1.2 billion
Total raised across three rounds ~$200 million
Timeframe 20 months
Growth since Series B (late 2025) 5x
Enterprise customers 150+

For WaVe-X, the round produced a first: HappyRobot is the first unicorn in its portfolio of 13 investments.

HappyRobot achieving unicorn status so quickly is a tremendous milestone, not only as our first portfolio unicorn, but also as proof of how rapidly agentic AI is transforming the real economy. — Michal Lewandowski, senior investment manager at WaVe-X

From pilots to enterprise platform

The three-round schedule is compressed even by AI standards. Andreessen Horowitz led the Series A on a handful of proof points at Circle Logistics and Uber Freight, both early adopters, before the Series B brought the enterprise names, according to FreightWaves.

Quili Peña, head of strategy and operations at HappyRobot, who helped lead fundraising for the rounds, told FreightWaves: “The earlier rounds seem like more of a bet on the future. The growth rounds, which are the ones that we’re entering now, are more fuel to continue to deliver the value.”

That shift showed up in the customer list. “Starting to hit the stride in our Series B, we started to get a lot of those enterprise contracts and enterprise relationships with some of the largest customers like DHL or even the Walter Group, which has allowed us to really secure this level of funding,” Peña said.

HappyRobot sells a platform rather than a single automated workflow. The company lands with one or two scoped use cases and expands from there. “The minute that we prove value to the customer, our platform and our technology, which encompasses all the context of the agents doing the work, allows us to add new use cases and continue to drive that transformation as a real partner,” Peña said. At the WALTER GROUP, five to 10 use cases are live across:

  • Dispatching
  • Payment collections
  • Customer support
  • General operations

“Really across the board,” Peña said. “Not a single point solution, but a platform that allows for the enterprise to build their agentic workforce on top of.”

Why a chain of tasks mattered

Thomas Muscher, managing director of WaVe-X, spent nearly 30 years inside LKW WALTER before moving to the group's venture arm. He said most rival startups solve only a single topic:

There are dozens of AI or agentic AI startups on the market, and I’ve seen a lot of them, and the majority of them can solve a single topic. You just do this one phone call to get information and pass it on to a human again to work on it.

According to FreightWaves, what separated HappyRobot, in Muscher's reading, was the length of the chain it could take over. Peña framed the company's growth: “We’ve gone from a promising startup to the consolidator leader in the supply chain space. And you are only able to do that when you have the enterprise backing.” For brokers, carriers and forwarders watching the category, the message from FreightWaves' reporting is that the agents are past the pilot stage.
