Heating Oil Customers to Get Compensation After Cancelled Orders and Price Hikes During Iran War
The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has secured compensation for heating oil customers whose orders were cancelled and prices raised after the US-Israel war with Iran broke out. Wholesale oil prices jumped from $70 to $120 per barrel, and retail prices peaked 92% higher. Some 1,700 households were forced to re-order at higher prices or go without fuel, costing up to £350. The regulator plans legal action against suppliers that refuse to compensate.
