Singaporean Charged Over Sanctioned North Korean Bulker Petrel 8 Flag Registration
David Chong Kwok Yong, 49, has been charged in Singapore with abetting Niue Ship Registry in registering the UN-designated bulk carrier Petrel 8 under a foreign flag. Singapore's Commercial Affairs Department alleges the registration occurred between May 18 and August 18, 2022, despite grounds to believe the vessel was linked to prohibited North Korean cargoes.
