Crude Oil Plunges Toward Pre-War Levels as India Mulls Relief on Flight Fares
Global crude oil benchmarks have fallen from above $100 per barrel to near pre-war levels, prompting the Indian government to consider asking airlines to reduce fuel surcharges. Civil aviation minister K Ram Mohan Naidu said the government is tracking aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices and will work with airlines on fare reductions if price stability is sustained. A Rs 10,000 crore price stabilisation fund has been set up to support airlines during the West Asia crisis.
