India lifts gas supply restrictions as LNG flow through Strait of Hormuz resumes
The Indian government has withdrawn its March 2026 order regulating natural gas supply, allowing normal LNG imports to resume as Strait of Hormuz reopens after a ceasefire. The emergency measures had prioritised supply for domestic PNG and CNG while reducing fertiliser sector allocations. India, the fourth-largest LNG importer, sources 41.4% of its LNG from Qatar.
