Government to Assess if AI is Affecting Pace of Global Capability Centres in India
The Indian government will evaluate whether the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence is affecting the pace of expansion of global capability centres (GCCs) in the country. Electronics and IT secretary S Krishnan made the announcement at a CII event, noting that AI could ultimately help attract higher-value work. The assessment will also consider the impact of recent tax, labour, and regulatory reforms on GCC momentum.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced that India's FTA negotiations with Israel and the six-nation GCC bloc have been temporarily stalled due to the West Asia crisis. Meanwhile, India is pursuing active negotiations with several other partners, including Chile, Mexico, SACU, and the Eurasian Economic Union. Goyal also highlighted a target to double India-Greece bilateral trade to $2.6 billion by 2030 and India's goal of reaching $2 trillion in exports within five years.

Nestlé India to Establish Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad, Tapping Growth Potential
Nestlé India is launching a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad, joining McDonald's, L'Oréal, and Carlsberg. The company reported 22.6% revenue growth in Q1 2026 and domestic sales of Rs 23,071.5 crore in FY26. India's GCC sector, with 1,700 centres in FY24, is projected to expand to 2,200 by 2030, generating up to $105 billion in revenue.
