NABARD facilitates GI registration for 28 new traditional products across India

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has facilitated Geographical Indication (GI) registration for 28 new products including traditional handicrafts, handloom textiles, and bamboo crafts. This brings NABARD's total GI-supported products to 176, connecting over 13,000 artisans to higher-value markets and generating more than 50,000 direct jobs.

Punjab Basmati exporters seek assurance from Goyal on sticking to current GI area

Two Rice Export Bodies Seek Review of Apeda Move to Appoint New Law Firm for Basmati GI, IPR Cases

Two Indian rice exporters' associations, AIREA and BRMEA, have asked the Commerce Ministry to review Apeda's decision to appoint a new law firm to handle global Basmati GI and IPR cases, alleging arbitrary selection and conflict of interest.
