GeM becomes cornerstone of India’s digital governance: CEO Mihir Kumar

Government e-Marketplace (GeM) has achieved cumulative Gross Merchandise Value of over 20 lakh crore rupees in ten years, growing from 422 crore rupees in 2016-17, according to CEO Mihir Kumar. An IIT Delhi study found GeM prices lower on 74% of items than Amazon, Flipkart and India Mart, while seller and MSME registrations grew dramatically.

GeM completes 10 years as India's trusted digital public procurement platform

GeM has launched a 10-day celebration ahead of its 10th Foundation Day, unveiling a new logo and announcing a Buyer Meet and Seller Roundtable for next month. CEO Mihir Kumar outlined the platform's next phase of growth and stakeholder engagement. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry confirmed a year-long outreach programme across India.
