Over the past 18 months, FedEx has implemented more than 50 pricing changes, according to parcel spend management firm LJM, with accessorial charges now accounting for 30% to 50% of some shippers' spend. The moves come amid rising fuel surcharges and EU regulatory changes targeting cheap e-commerce imports from China.

Federal prosecutors in New York have indicted eight individuals in an alleged $10 million international cargo theft conspiracy that targeted commercial freight across the United States from March 2023 to present. The group allegedly impersonated legitimate carriers, diverted shipments, and sold stolen goods, including electronics, liquor, meat, eggs, clothing, and cryptocurrency mining machines. Arrests were made in California, Florida, Pennsylvania, and New York, with one defendant still at large.
