Residue-free cumin takes root in Rajasthan as IPM fetches higher returns for farmers

A DBT-led initiative in western Rajasthan has shown that residue-free cumin produced through integrated pest management fetches a 24-25% premium over market prices, with output at 35,000 tonnes. Costs are down 25-35% per acre, and demand from Europe, China, Japan, South Korea and the US is driving expansion towards 100,000 tonnes. Corporate buyers including ITC and Janta Global are sourcing directly from IPM farmers.
