UK VAT cut on theme parks and kids' meals takes effect for summer holidays
The UK government's temporary VAT cut on theme parks, zoos, museums and children's meals has come into force on June 25, reducing VAT from 20% to 5% until September 1. The measure, costing £300m, aims to help families during the school summer holidays, but critics including the Institute for Fiscal Studies estimate an average saving of just £10 per household.
