Logistics StealthGas to Sell Blast-Damaged LPG Carrier After Insurance Settlement
Nasdaq-listed StealthGas has settled its insurance claim for the damaged LPG carrier Eco Wizard and will sell the vessel as-is. The 40,000 cu m carrier was damaged on July 6, 2025, while loading ammonia at Russia's Ust-Luga port, causing an ammonia leak and crew evacuation. The vessel, currently inoperable in Riga, Latvia, will be disposed of to a third party at no expected monetary value after the insurance payout. The incident is part of a broader security concern around merchant ships calling at Russian ports.
