Gold loans surge 84% in FY26, emerge as mainstream credit driver: Experian
Gold loans are now one of India's fastest-growing retail credit products, with sourcing surging 84% year-on-year in FY26, according to Experian. The industry portfolio more than tripled to ₹19.4 lakh crore by March 2026, driven by rising gold prices and deeper market penetration. Asset quality also strengthened, with net 90+ delinquency improving to 0.2% from 0.4% three years earlier.
