Commodities Centre Forms ICAR Committee to Address Andhra Pradesh Totapuri Mango Crisis
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed ICAR to form a high-level expert committee to study the challenges faced by Totapuri mango growers in Andhra Pradesh. The committee will assess the entire value chain from cultivation to exports and recommend long-term support measures. This follows a decline in Totapuri mango prices that has adversely affected farmer incomes.

India's mango exports have reached more than 45 countries this season, with shipments to the United States already surpassing last year's full-season volumes nearly a month before the season ends. APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev said exports to the US are on track to grow by more than 30% this season, driven by promotional campaigns in major US cities. Overall agricultural and processed food exports reached $53 billion last financial year, and India's export basket has diversified from around 280 to nearly 500 products over the past decade.
Trade Odisha SHG Exports 7.5 Quintals of Amrapali Mangoes to London via PSFPO Project
Maa Kalijai SHG from Odisha's Angul district has exported 7.5 quintals of Amrapali mangoes to London under the PSFPO project. The export was facilitated by Palladium Consulting with support from the Directorate of Horticulture, Mission Shakti, and Odisha Livelihoods Mission. Odisha has achieved 90 tonnes of mango exports so far this year.
