Parliamentary Panel Directs FSSAI to Notify Front-of-Pack Labelling Rules Within Time Frame

A parliamentary committee has directed the Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to finalise and notify the Front-of-Pack Nutrition Labelling (FOPNL) regulations on a time-bound basis. The panel also recommended mandatory front-of-pack declarations for added sugar in all foods marketed to infants and children, with colour-coded indicators or warning labels for high-sugar products.
