Food Products Create Most Jobs Among PLI Sectors with Lowest Investment, Government Data Shows

According to government data shared in Parliament, the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme has generated the most direct jobs in food products, despite relatively low investment. The food sector added nearly 3.3 lakh jobs with Rs 9,200 crore investment, while electronics manufacturing created 1.7 lakh jobs with Rs 20,580 crore. High-skill sectors like solar PV modules and specialty steel created far fewer jobs per rupee invested.
