Exemptions are granted to export-oriented units (EOUs), SEZs, and units under the Advance Authorisation Scheme, provided the imported inputs are not sold into the domestic tariff area. The policy change follows an anti-dumping investigation by the DGTR that found material injury to domestic producers from dumped imports.
