After Q1 profit collapse, Maersk returns Gemini AE19 service to Suez
Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd are returning the Gemini AE19 Asia–Europe service to the trans-Suez route immediately, following Maersk's Q1 profit collapse to $100 million from $1.2 billion. The shift joins a broader gradual return to Suez by CMA CGM, MSC and Cosco as carriers reassess Red Sea security. Shippers should expect shorter Asia–Europe transit times but monitor Houthi threats.
