Commodities Arabian Drilling to resume remaining suspended offshore rigs as recovery strengthens
Arabian Drilling, Saudi Arabia's largest onshore and offshore drilling company by fleet size, has received notice to resume operations for its remaining suspended offshore rigs, according to Splash247. The resumption reflects continued recovery in offshore market activity and is expected to lift offshore fleet utilisation to 100% by the end of Q3 2026.
Commodities Transocean adds $292m to backlog with Gulf of Mexico and Africa rig deals
Offshore drilling contractor Transocean has secured two contract extensions and one new contract for three rigs, adding approximately $292m in incremental backlog. The deals include a $530,000/day extension for Deepwater Conqueror in the US Gulf of Mexico and a $361,000/day extension for Deepwater Skyros with Murphy in Ivory Coast. Total backlog is approximately $6.7bn, excluding the pending $1bn Equinor package.
Logistics PV Drilling Expands Fleet with New Jackup Rig Acquisition
Petrovietnam Drilling and Well Service Corporation (PV Drilling) has expanded its fleet with the acquisition of a new jackup drilling rig, increasing its total to eight. The rig, named PV Drilling X, will be transported to Vietnam for upgrades and is expected to enter service in 2027.
