Air India Seeks $1.5 Billion From Owners Tata and Singapore Airlines in Phased Capital Infusion
Air India has approached Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines for a $1.5 billion phased capital infusion, its first major shareholder funding since 2021. The request follows a Rs 22,238 crore FY2026 loss, more than double the prior-year deficit, and comes as chairman N Chandrasekaran prepares to step down in February 2027.
