India has shifted its trade strategy toward preferential trade agreements (PTAs) instead of free trade agreements (FTAs) with South Africa, Mercosur and other developing economies, according to the Economic Times. India is also pursuing PTAs with Mexico and Kenya, while Ecuador has sought a full FTA.
