Campco Asks Uttar Pradesh Government to Remove 'Mandi' Tax on Arecanut to Ease Double Taxation Burden on Cooperatives

A Campco delegation led by its President SR Sathishchandra and Managing Director BV Sathyanarayana met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow to request the removal of 'mandi' tax on arecanut sold by cooperatives. They highlighted double taxation—an APMC cess in Karnataka and a mandi tax in Uttar Pradesh—that has led to a decline in turnover and the closure of Campco's Kanpur sales depot. The UP government assured sympathetic consideration of the concerns.
