BBC's The Split Up Spinoff Signals Content Franchise Strategy for Media Execs

BBC has released the trailer for The Split Up, a six-episode spinoff of the popular legal drama The Split. The new series, created by Ursula Rani Sarma, shifts to Manchester’s high-net-worth divorce circuit and introduces a new family, signaling BBC's strategy to extend valuable IP without original creator Abi Morgan. For media investors, the spinoff represents a common tactic to maximize returns on established brands while refreshing creative direction.
