L&T and Hitachi Energy consortium secures North Sea offshore wind transmission programme

Larsen & Toubro (L&T), in consortium with Hitachi Energy, has secured a framework cooperation agreement with TenneT for a 2GW offshore wind transmission programme. The deal covers six projects, including two ongoing and two new ones in the Netherlands and Germany, with cumulative capacity of 8GW at 525 kV. L&T will handle offshore converter platforms, while Hitachi Energy provides HVDC Light technology.

German utility RWE has acquired an indirect majority stake in transmission system operator Amprion, increasing its total shareholding to 55%. The transaction supports Amprion's €42 billion investment plan to expand Germany's grid by 2030.
