EU Entry/Exit System Triggers Summer Delay Warnings for Travelers and Freight Operators
The European Union's Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since October 2024, has led to warnings of queues up to six hours at border control points. The system, which requires biometric registration for non-EU citizens, is causing delays at airports, ferry ports, and rail terminals across Europe. Logistics operators should advise clients of potential impacts on truck drivers and crew traveling into the Schengen Area, especially during the peak summer period.
