Asian Indices Lead Regional Session

Among the benchmarks tracked by News on AIR, South Korea’s Kospi recorded the sharper advance, gaining almost 3.6 per cent, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose around 1.2 per cent. UK GDP Growth Slows in Second Quarter

On the economic front, the United Kingdom’s real gross domestic product is estimated to have increased by 0.4 per cent in the April-to-June quarter of this year, down from growth of 0.6 per cent in the first quarter, according to GDP figures released today by the Office for National Statistics and carried by News on AIR.

The deceleration brings second-quarter growth 0.2 percentage points below the 0.6 per cent first-quarter pace. On a month-on-month basis, GDP grew by 0.3 per cent in June, after registering no growth in the previous month, the same ONS release showed.
