Urea, DAP demand rises amid West Asia tensions

Executive Summary

India saw excess sale of urea and DAP -- the two highly consumed fertilisers -- during the March-May period following the breakout of West Asia crisis, Fertiliser Secretary Rajat Kumar Mishra said on Friday asserting adequate stocks availability to meet kharif season demand. Sharing about the fertiliser scenario for the upcoming kharif season at the concluding day of a two-day national conference here, Mishra said more urea and di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) were sold after the conflict. About 50.59 lakh tonne of urea was sold during March 1 and May 25 after the war, up 4.58 lakh tonne from 46.01
