Cargill's Dairy Initiative Boosts Maharashtra's Livestock Sector

Cargill, in collaboration with Syngenta Foundation India and Digital Green India, has launched a ₹2.3 crore Integrated Dairy Development Initiative in Maharashtra. The program aims to improve livestock health and dairy productivity for over 3,000 farmers, utilizing AI-powered advisory services and mobile veterinary vans.

Cargill's Dairy Initiative Boosts Maharashtra's Livestock Sector

Cargill has announced a significant investment of ₹2.3 crore in Maharashtra's dairy sector, targeting improved livestock health and productivity. This initiative, launched in partnership with Syngenta Foundation India and Digital Green India, will initially focus on the Ahilyanagar district.

Initiative Details

The initiative will benefit over 3,000 farmers across 26 villages in Rahuri, Rahata, and Shrirampur districts. It includes the deployment of Pashu Arogya Mitra mobile veterinary vans and AI-powered digital advisory services for 5,000 farmers in 120 villages.

Strategic Importance

"Strengthening the rural economy and increasing farmers’ income is a key priority," said Pankaja Munde, Minister of Animal Husbandry, Environment & Climate Change, Government of Maharashtra.

Technology and Training

Digital Green will introduce FarmerChat, an AI-powered, voice-enabled advisory platform. This platform will assist farmers with real-time guidance in local languages, helping them navigate government schemes and market options.
