Student-Led Crab Aquaculture Startup Boosts Kerala's Blue Economy

In a significant development for the aquaculture sector, students from the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) have launched a pioneering startup focused on crab aquaculture. This initiative, incubated under the Atal Incubation Centre (AIC-KUFOS Kochi Foundation), aims to bridge the gap between academic research and commercial aquaculture.

Innovative Products and Technologies

The startup has already developed several innovative products, including specialized crab feed and CrabRAS water quality management solutions. These products are designed to enhance the growth, health, and survival of cultured crabs, contributing to the sustainability and profitability of commercial crab farming.
