Dabur India Ltd Chairman Mohit Burman has asserted that India's growth story 'remains intact' despite a turbulent global environment, according to the company's latest annual report. The FMCG giant is betting on rising consumer aspirations and robust domestic demand to fuel its future expansion, even as it navigates geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, and inflationary pressures.
Resilient Performance Amid Global Uncertainty
In his address to shareholders, Burman highlighted that Dabur's own performance mirrored India's resilience. Consolidated revenue grew 5% to Rs 13,193 crore during the fiscal year, while gross margins expanded by 30 basis points to 48.3%, driven by calibrated price hikes, a focus on premiumisation, and disciplined cost control. Net profit rose 7.2% to Rs 1,895 crore, Burman reported. He attributed the results to the enduring appeal of Dabur's heritage brands, the growing relevance of its natural and Ayurveda-based portfolio, and its deep distribution reach, noting that Dabur products are now present in 'nearly eight out of 10 Indian households.'

'As we look to the future, the world will likely remain uncertain. However, what gives me confidence is the strength of our fundamentals. India's growth story remains intact. Consumer aspirations continue to rise.' — Mohit Burman, Chairman, Dabur India
Investing in Future Growth: New Facility and Premium Push
Dabur is backing its optimism with concrete investments. The company recently broke ground on a new manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, a move Burman said underscores its commitment to India's growth story. The plant is expected to create jobs and strengthen local supply ecosystems. Additionally, Dabur is pushing into new-age formats, premium offerings, and quick commerce channels. The launch of Dabur Ventures and a minority stake acquisition in D2C luxury skincare brand RAS Beauty are part of efforts to align the company's legacy with the aspirations of a new generation of consumers, according to the annual report.
International Business and Strategic Priorities
Beyond India, Dabur's international business — spanning over 120 countries — grew 8.5% in rupee terms during the year, the company said, even as it navigated geopolitical complexities in some overseas markets.
Looking ahead, Dabur listed the following as its strategic priorities:
- Strengthening core categories
- Accelerating premiumisation
- Expanding in e-commerce and quick commerce
- Rolling out its 'GTM 2.0' go-to-market model under Project Saksham
- Driving cost efficiencies through Project Samriddhi
- Exploring strategic M&A for portfolio diversification
The company's next milestone will be the release of its quarterly earnings, where investors will assess progress against these initiatives.
