Dalal Street Outlook: TCS Earnings, Crude Oil, Fed Minutes to Drive Stock Market This Week

Indian stock markets are poised for a crucial week as the June-quarter earnings season kicks off, alongside key global developments including US Federal Reserve minutes and US-Iran technical talks. According to the Times of India Business Desk, the BSE benchmark Sensex rose 663.44 points (0.86%) last week, while the NSE Nifty gained 214.85 points (0.89%).

Earnings Season Kick-off with TCS

IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will be the first to report its June-quarter results on July 9. Investors and analysts are expected to closely scrutinise the company's performance and management commentary on demand trends, discretionary spending, and opportunities in artificial intelligence. "Investors will closely monitor the quarterly results of TCS on July 9, with particular focus on management commentary regarding demand trends, discretionary spending, and AI-led business opportunities," said Ajit Mishra, SVP, Research at Religare Broking Ltd.

Pravesh Gour, Senior Technical Analyst at Swastika Investmart Ltd, added that "investor attention will centre on the commencement of the Q1 FY27 earnings season from July 9, with the initial batch of corporate earnings and management commentary expected to provide valuable insights into demand conditions, margin trends, and earnings visibility."

Crude Oil and Global Cues

Crude oil prices will remain a key factor after stabilising around USD 68-69 a barrel, as concerns over supply disruptions through the Strait of Hormuz eased. "Crude oil prices will remain in focus after stabilising around USD 68–69 a barrel as concerns over disruptions to shipments through the Strait of Hormuz eased. Sustained stability in energy prices would be supportive for India's inflation outlook and external balances," said Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money.

On the global front, investors will also watch the next round of technical talks between the US and Iran, expected on July 11, though the venue has not been decided. Separately, the US Federal Reserve's June policy meeting minutes will be scrutinised after softer-than-expected US labour market data increased expectations that the central bank may adopt a less hawkish approach to interest rates.

Domestic Factors: Monsoon and FII Activity

Domestically, the progress of the southwest monsoon and kharif sowing will remain important indicators for rural demand, inflation expectations, and overall economic growth, according to Pravesh Gour. Trading activity of foreign investors is also likely to shape market movement during the week.

Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Investments Limited, noted that "the market's direction will be guided by the US Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) minutes, the start of the domestic earnings season and the progress of the southwest monsoon."

The combination of these factors—earnings, crude oil stability, Fed policy cues, and monsoon progress—will determine the near-term trajectory for Dalal Street. For investors and corporate strategists, the week ahead offers critical data points to assess demand recovery, cost pressures, and macroeconomic stability.
