Mint Mobile Enhances Data Plans Without Price Hike

Mint Mobile, a popular prepaid carrier, has announced an increase in data allowances across all its non-unlimited plans without any price hikes. This strategic move enhances the competitiveness of Mint Mobile's offerings in the U.S. telecommunications market.

Enhanced Data Plans

The entry-level plan, previously offering 5GB, now provides 6GB of data per month. Similarly, the 15GB plan has been upgraded to 17GB, and the 20GB plan now offers 23GB. Despite these increases, the pricing remains unchanged, with the entry-level plan starting at $15 per month.

Plan Previous Data New Data Price (per month)
Entry-level 5GB 6GB $15
Mid-tier 15GB 17GB $20
Top-tier 20GB 23GB $25

Competitive Pricing Strategy

Mint Mobile continues to offer competitive pricing, especially for customers who pay for a full year upfront. The carrier also provides a $15 discount on any three-month plan for new customers, making the entry-level plan effectively $10 per month.

Device Bundling Offers

Mint Mobile is also promoting significant discounts on flagship devices. Customers can save up to $500 on the latest Samsung Galaxy S26 and Google Pixel 10 models when bundled with a new plan. Additionally, a full year of unlimited data is available for $180, half the usual price.

Market Implications

These enhancements position Mint Mobile as a more attractive option for budget-conscious consumers seeking value in their mobile plans. By increasing data allowances without raising prices, Mint Mobile strengthens its market position against competitors in the U.S. telecom industry.

The next milestone for Mint Mobile will be observing the impact of these changes on subscriber growth and market share in upcoming earnings reports.

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) have already net sold nearly Rs 43,000 crore in June, pushing 2026 outflows to a record Rs 3 lakh crore. Analysts say the AI-driven rally that diverted foreign capital away from India may be losing steam, potentially prompting a reversal.
