Invest in India Before It's Too Late, Piyush Goyal Tells Investors at Bharat Innovates 2026 in Nice

Union Minister Piyush Goyal urged investors and venture capital funds to invest in India without delay, speaking at the closing ceremony of 'Bharat Innovates 2026' in Nice, France. According to the minister, India's investment ecosystem is ready, the domestic market is vast, and the government will assist investors in connecting with market opportunities, supported by an already favorable policy framework.

India's Investment Ecosystem Ready

"To our investors, and venture funds, the time is now, get into action and start investing before it is too late. Indian family offices, Indian venture capital funds, Indian investors, Indian corporates, they all have to come into action," Goyal said. He emphasized that the government would facilitate market linkages and that a supportive policy framework is already in place.

Call to Domestic Industry for Manufacturing Partnership

The minister called upon the domestic industry to promote startups by joining hands with them in the manufacturing segment. This collaboration, he stated, would enable India to become a launchpad for global market expansion. "India will become your (Indian industries') launch pad and the global market will become your destination," he added. Such partnerships, Goyal noted, would help reduce the time from scientific discovery to market deployment of innovations.

Leveraging Free Trade Agreements

Goyal also asked the domestic industry to leverage free trade agreements that India has finalized in recent years. He did not specify which agreements, but the call signals a push to use preferential trade terms to boost exports and manufacturing competitiveness.

Suggestions for Ease of Doing Business and Startup Return

Seeking further improvement, the minister requested suggestions on enhancing the ease of doing business in India and on measures to encourage Indian startups working overseas to return and establish their base in the country. This reflects a broader strategy to attract talent and capital back to India.
