Dutch subsea services provider N-Sea has named Pim Nelemans as its new chief executive officer, succeeding Martin Adler who stepped down on June 15, according to Splash247.
The leadership change follows more than five years under Adler, who led the company through a period of expansion after its acquisition by investment firm Capital Change in 2021, the report stated. Adler will remain involved with the business as a shareholder and chairman of N-Sea's advisory board.
"The company had achieved the objectives set following the 2021 acquisition and had developed into a stronger and more resilient subsea services provider," Adler said in a statement, as quoted by Splash247.
Management Transition
Day-to-day management will now be handled by a management board comprising Nelemans as CEO and Ann Porte as chief financial officer, according to Splash247.
| Role | Name | Previous Role |
|---|---|---|
| CEO | Pim Nelemans | COO at N-Sea |
| CFO | Ann Porte | CFO (continuing) |
| Advisory Board Chairman | Martin Adler | Former CEO |
Background of New CEO
Nelemans joined N-Sea as COO and played a key role in strengthening the company's market position and international footprint, Splash247 reported. Before N-Sea, he held senior management positions at Dutch offshore heavy transport and marine services groups Dockwise and Boskalis, including managing director of heavy marine transport and director of estimating and engineering offshore.
"I am honoured to accept the role of chief executive officer," Nelemans said. "Building on this solid foundation, I will continue to accelerate our growth, strengthen our integrated service offering and further position N-Sea as a trusted partner in the evolving offshore and subsea landscape."
Operational Scope
N-Sea operates a fleet of 14 multipurpose vessels and provides services including survey, unexploded ordnance identification and clearance, cable repair and installation, inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM), as well as construction and decommissioning, according to the source. During Adler's tenure, the company expanded its capabilities across these areas.
Implications for Logistics and Freight Operators
For logistics managers and freight forwarders involved in offshore energy projects or subsea cable logistics, the leadership change at N-Sea signals continuity in strategy, as both Nelemans and Porte are internal appointments with deep industry knowledge. The company's fleet of 14 vessels and expanded service offerings remain available for projects requiring subsea support. The continued involvement of Adler as advisory board chairman may provide strategic oversight, while Nelemans' background at Dockwise and Boskalis suggests a strong emphasis on heavy marine transport and integrated solutions.
Watch List
- Strategic direction: Any potential shift in focus toward new geographies or service lines under Nelemans' leadership.
- Fleet expansion: Whether N-Sea will add vessels or capabilities to meet growing offshore wind and subsea cable demand.
- Adler's role: How his continued presence as chairman influences long-term decisions.
