Dreame AirStyle Era Launches as Stylish Dyson Airwrap Alternative with Key Design Trade-offs

Dreame has launched the AirStyle Era, an eight-in-one multi-styler that undercuts the Dyson Airwrap by $250 in the US, according to TechRadar. The device is available in the US, UK, and Australia from Dreame and third-party retailers including Amazon.

Pricing and Availability

The Dreame AirStyle Era is priced at $349.99 in the US, £349 in the UK, and AU$699 in Australia, TechRadar reported. It launched in May 2026 and is available directly from Dreame and Amazon in the US, from Dreame in the UK, and through Dreame Australia and several third-party retailers in Australia.

Compared to rivals, the AirStyle Era sits between the $279.99 Shark FlexStyle (which retails for AU$499 in Australia) and the $599.99 / AU$849 Dyson Airwrap. It is the successor to Dreame's seven-in-one AirStyle Pro, which had a higher list price of $399.99 in the US but was rarely sold at that level, while the AirStyle Pro's list price in Australia was AU$599, according to TechRadar.

Product Features and Attachments

The AirStyle Era comes with eight attachments covering virtually every styling scenario, TechRadar said. The standout feature is the auto-wrap curl barrels, which use 360-degree airflow to draw hair in automatically, producing bouncy, natural-looking curls without manual winding. For fine to medium hair, the results are impressive, and the smoothing brushes perform well. A diffuser has been added for the first time, replacing the AirStyle Pro's flyaway attachment with a U-shaped straightening nozzle.

However, TechRadar identified two significant design drawbacks. The maximum temperature of 176°F / 80°C is unchanged from the AirStyle Pro and may not suit thicker or longer hair. The straightening nozzle is fiddly and time-consuming to use, underdelivering compared to the flyaway attachment it replaced. Swapping curl barrel directions is also fiddly.

Competitive Landscape

Product US Price UK Price AU Price Key Attachments
Dreame AirStyle Era $349.99 £349 AU$699 8 (incl. diffuser, straightening nozzle)
Dyson Airwrap $599.99 — (not given) AU$849 Various (auto-wrap)
Shark FlexStyle $279.99 AU$499 Various (auto-wrap)
Dreame AirStyle Pro $399.99 (list) AU$599 7 (no diffuser)

TechRadar noted that while the Era undercuts the Dyson Airwrap by $250 / £130 / AU$150, it also produces comparable curl results, making it a worthy Airwrap alternative. The review called the Era "the most complete multi-styler Dreame has produced" and "the most attractive multi-styler I've tested," but acknowledged it falls slightly short of its potential due to the temperature and nozzle issues.

Implications for Importers and Retailers

The launch of the Dreame AirStyle Era expands the mid-range multi-styler segment in the US, UK, and Australian markets. For importers and retailers, the product's $349.99 price point positions it as a direct competitor to the Shark FlexStyle and a lower-cost alternative to the Dyson Airwrap, potentially capturing consumers who prioritize value but still want auto-wrap functionality.

The limitation of 80°C maximum temperature may affect appeal in markets with a higher prevalence of thick, coarse, or long hair, as TechRadar noted. Retailers should consider stocking complementary high-temperature hair dryers for pre-drying, or educate customers on the Era's best-use scenarios.

Distribution channels include Dreame's own websites and Amazon in the US, with no mention of wider retail rollouts. Trade professionals should monitor whether Dreame expands into specialized beauty retailers or department stores, which could shift import volumes and logistics requirements.

What to Watch

Market adoption of the AirStyle Era will test whether Dreame can challenge Dyson's dominance in the multi-styler category, particularly as the brand addresses design feedback in future iterations. Distribution expansion beyond direct and Amazon channels could signal larger shipment volumes and new customs classifications for hair stylers in trade data.
