Executive Summary

MUMBAI: Markets regulator Sebi on Wednesday banned Rajesh Mehta, CMD of Rajesh Exports from dealing in the shares of the company till further orders. In its interim order, Sebi also directed Rajesh Exports to cooperate with the regulator's investigating officer and forensic auditors to look into the books of the company. Sebi's initial investigations showed that the company had, over several years starting FY21, manipulated its books of accounts, especially its revenues from overseas subsidiaries, to inflate its revenues. GTRI Seeks Clear DPIIT Guidelines on New Quality Certification Regime; Warns of Compliance Hurdles

The Global Trade Research Initiative (GTRI) has urged the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to issue detailed operational guidelines for the new Transition Facilitation (Quality Control) Order, 2026, which creates an alternative compliance pathway under 10 Quality Control Orders (QCOs).
