Jedify Secures $24M to Enhance AI Contextual Understanding

AI solutions often fall short without proper integration into a company's specific context. Jedify, a startup based in New York, aims to bridge this gap by providing AI agents with a comprehensive understanding of business-specific data and workflows. The company recently raised $24 million in a Series A funding round led by Norwest, with participation from S Capital VC, Cerca Partners, Oceans Ventures, and strategic investor Snowflake.

Enhancing AI with Contextual Understanding

Jedify's platform connects to various enterprise knowledge sources via APIs to build a "context graph." This graph helps AI agents focus on relevant information by understanding relationships between entities, data, permissions, and workflows. Assaf Henkin, co-founder and CEO, highlights that this approach allows AI agents to be more effective in real-time decision-making processes.

Strategic Partnerships and Use Cases

Jedify's collaboration with Snowflake is particularly noteworthy. Snowflake is integrating Jedify's technology with its AI products like Cortex AI service and Semantic Views. Kiteworks, a compliance company, uses Jedify to enhance its customer workflows by integrating tools like Tableau and Notion.

"When they go into a customer conversation, Jedify builds for them, on the fly, everything they need to know," Henkin explained.

Addressing Permissions and Governance

A critical aspect of Jedify's platform is its ability to manage permissions effectively. By inheriting permissions from existing systems and allowing custom group definitions, Jedify ensures that AI agents operate within the intended boundaries. This feature is crucial for maintaining data security and compliance.

Market Position and Future Plans

Jedify targets mid-market and large enterprises with mature data infrastructures. The company has between 10 and 20 early customers, including The Weather Company, and sees potential in sectors like gaming and consumer packaged goods. The recent funding will support product development, hiring, and market expansion, bringing Jedify's total funding to approximately $33 million.

Jedify's approach to enhancing AI with business context could significantly improve enterprise efficiency, particularly in data-heavy industries. By focusing on real-time, context-aware AI solutions, Jedify positions itself as a valuable partner for companies looking to leverage AI more effectively.

Measuring AI ROI at the Tool Level Is Missing the Point, Says Slalom UK AI Chief

A new article by Pedro Varela, Head of AI at Slalom UK & Ireland, argues that measuring AI ROI at the individual tool level is counterproductive. Instead, businesses should start with a clearly defined problem and then find the right AI solution, as tool-first approaches lead to unanswerable ROI questions. Varela notes that research suggests up to 70% of UK businesses are using or planning to use AI, and 2026 is seen as the year AI ROI gets real.
