Finance Private Sector Banks Lead Deterioration in Data Reporting Quality, RBI Index Shows
Private sector banks recorded the steepest sequential decline in the Reserve Bank of India's Supervisory Data Quality Index (sDQI) for the March 2026 quarter, with their overall score falling from 90.6 to 89.3. The deterioration was broad-based, with accuracy, completeness, and timeliness all weakening compared to the previous quarter. Foreign banks were the only segment to improve, while public sector and small finance banks also saw mild declines.
