A consortium led by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) has been selected as the preferred bidder for the 800MW Jeonbuk Southwestern Offshore Wind Expansion Complex Phase 1 project. The award, announced by Jeonbuk State, puts the group in line to develop the first stage of a 2.4GW offshore wind complex off Buan County. The project is structured as a public-led scheme with public entities required to hold more than half the equity.

The Gunsan Shipyard, dormant since 2017, has signed a letter of intent for four aframaxes, marking its first newbuilding commitment.
