Indian wheat body urges FSSAI to issue crop-specific risk-based sampling and testing guidelines

According to a report by The Hindu BusinessLine, the Wheat Products Promotion Society (WPPS) has asked the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to issue wheat-specific, risk-based sampling and testing guidelines and publish an operational due-diligence checklist for grain processors. WPPS Chairman Ajay Goyal outlined proposals including a consolidated commodity-pesticide MRL map, a Wheat Safety Data Passport, and a two-season national surveillance pilot before revising pesticide or mycotoxin limits.
