Logistics KNOT Offshore Partners acquires modern shuttle tanker Hedda Knutsen from parent in $113m deal
KNOT Offshore Partners is acquiring the 2024-built shuttle tanker Hedda Knutsen from parent Knutsen NYK Offshore Tankers in a $113m deal, taking its fleet to 20 vessels. The DP2 suezmax is under firm charter to Petrobras in Brazil until 2034, with an option to 2039. The partnership also completed a $225m refinancing with DNB Bank to replace debt due in September.
Logistics DP World unit Avana Logistek buys Transworld's largest boxship for $11.4 million
DP World-controlled Avana Logistek is set to acquire the SSL Brahmaputra, Transworld Shipping Lines' largest containership, for $11.4 million under a memorandum of agreement signed August 7. The 2003-built, 4,250 teu vessel becomes the latest in a series of Transworld boxships sold to the DP World unit in 2026.
Logistics Castor Maritime Adds Second Modern Kamsarmax Bulk Carrier in One Week
Nasdaq-listed Castor Maritime has purchased another modern kamsarmax bulk carrier, the 2024-built Magic Saturn, for $41.9 million, taking delivery on June 29. This follows the acquisition of the 2023-built Magic Jupiter for $37.5 million last week, bringing total spending on the segment to nearly $80 million. With the addition, Castor's fleet has grown to 11 vessels.
