Postmaster General: Senate Zip code bill would cost USPS more than $800M

The U.S. Postal Service warns that Senate bill S. 4505, which would assign single unique Zip codes to 83 communities, would erase a $600 million performance gain and cost over $800 million to implement. Postmaster General David Steiner testified the measure would cause 'irreparable harm' and reduce service in areas surrounding the affected Zip codes.
