Recent price movements

The August reduction follows a cut that took effect on July 1, when oil marketing companies slashed the Delhi retail price of a 19-kg cylinder to ₹2,930, a decline of ₹183.50, according to the report. The latest move extends the downward trend for commercial LPG after a series of increases earlier in 2026.

In April, oil marketing companies increased commercial LPG cylinder prices by ₹195.50 across metropolitan cities amid tensions in West Asia, lifting prices to ₹2,208 in Kolkata, ₹2,031 in Mumbai and ₹2,246.50 in Chennai.
