Market and Macro Data Points

The BEA's advance GDP estimate and the June PCE inflation figures were released alongside the stock market rally, according to News on AIR. The data show:

  • The US economy expanded at a slower annualised pace of 1.5 per cent in Q2 2026, versus 2.1 per cent in Q1 2026.
  • The PCE price index rose 3.7 per cent year-on-year in June, down from 4.1 per cent in May.
  • On a month-on-month basis, the PCE price index fell 0.1 per cent in June, compared with a 0.5 per cent gain in May.

These figures represent the latest official data from the BEA and the most recent market session performance, as reported by News on AIR. The moderation in second-quarter GDP growth and the cooling of the PCE price index in June, alongside the chip-led rally in US equities, are the key data points for finance executives and investors tracking the US economy and capital markets.
