The vessels are earmarked for the planned Bharat Container Shipping Line, bringing together SCI and several Indian state-owned port and logistics entities.

Chinese state-owned carrier Zhenghe Mainline has ordered six 4,600 TEU containerships from Hengli Shipbuilding in a deal worth over RMB3 billion ($443 million). The vessels will serve a new route linking Taicang with the Baltic, giving parent Jiangsu Port Group greater control over capacity for eastern China exporters. The order brings Zhenghe's confirmed orderbook at the yard to 11 ships with combined capacity of about 47,700 TEU.

Hong Kong-based owner EGPN has entered the container shipping newbuilding market with an order for two 1,900 TEU feeder vessels at CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding, scheduled for delivery in 2029. The move adds another segment to EGPN's fleet expansion, which has already covered bulkers, product tankers, and chemical tankers. The yard's Swan design continues to attract newcomers and established operators alike.

Norwegian investment group Eitzen, through its subsidiary Zen, has ordered two all-electric 900 TEU container vessels from Zhejiang Dongpeng Shipbuilding. The ships will operate on a green shipping corridor between Hamburg, Gothenburg, and Oslo, with first delivery in 24 months. The project is backed by NOK200 million in funding from Enova.
