DHL Global Forwarding has launched dedicated Boeing 777 cargo flights from Hanoi, Taipei, and Bangkok to Cincinnati and Chicago, increasing Transpacific capacity. The service, operating three times per week, offers shippers predictable schedules and stable rates, with Kalitta Air operating the Hanoi-Chicago leg. DHL is the latest forwarder to time-charter aircraft for the Asia-US lane, following similar moves by Ceva, Kuehne+Nagel, and DSV.
Logistics China Southern Airlines Orders Boeing 777-8 Freighters in Landmark Deal After Trade Thaw
China Southern Airlines has placed an order with Boeing for seven freighter aircraft, including five of the new 777-8 model, marking the first known purchase of the 777-8 by a mainland China carrier. The deal, announced on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, comes after a period of trade tensions and signals a reopening of the Chinese market to Boeing products. The 777-8 offers 30% better fuel efficiency than the 747-400 and is expected to deliver in 2028.
