India's National Mission on Edible Oils–Oil Palm (NMEO-OP) should pivot from expanding financial assistance to productivity-led growth in its second phase, according to a BusinessLine analysis. The analysis calls for irrigation-first implementation, Effective Area Expansion, outcome-based monitoring through an Effective Plantation Index, and stronger inter-agency coordination to reduce edible oil imports.
