Semco Maritime Wins Five-Year Offshore Services Contract with INEOS in Danish North Sea

Danish contractor Semco Maritime has secured a five-year framework agreement with energy group INEOS for the provision of onshore and offshore services covering INEOS’s activities in the Danish part of the North Sea, according to Splash247.

Contract Duration and Scope

The contract runs from June 2026 until May 2031 and includes two one-year extension options, Splash247 reported. It is a framework agreement covering the delivery of skilled workers and a range of services onshore and offshore to support safe and efficient operations across INEOS’s installations in the Danish sector.

Personnel and Technical Services

Under the agreement, Semco Maritime will supply experienced offshore personnel including:

  • Welders
  • Electricians
  • Production technicians
  • Medical staff
  • Engineers
  • Other technical specialists

Assignments under the contract include rope access work, planned preventive maintenance, NORM (naturally occurring radioactive material) management, rental equipment, and vessel technician services, Splash247 detailed.

Strategic Importance

The contract provides a long-term planning horizon that enables Semco Maritime to attract, retain, and further develop highly skilled onshore and offshore workers, the company explained in a statement reported by Splash247. INEOS, a major energy group, operates oil and gas installations in the Danish North Sea, making this contract critical for maintaining production uptime and safety.

Implied Impact on Commodity Supply Chains

While the contract does not directly involve commodity pricing, it supports the operational backbone of oil and gas production in a key mature basin. The North Sea remains a significant source of crude oil and natural gas for European markets. Any disruption to service contracts can affect production schedules, but the long-term nature of this deal suggests stable operations for INEOS’s Danish assets through 2031.

Workforce and Service Breakdown

Service Category Examples of Personnel or Tasks
Skilled Personnel Welders, electricians, production technicians, medical staff, engineers
Technical Services Rope access, preventive maintenance, NORM management, rental equipment, vessel technician services

Outlook

The agreement forms a solid foundation for further development with INEOS on future assignments, according to Semco Maritime. With a five-year base plus extension options, the contract provides revenue visibility for Semco Maritime and operational stability for INEOS. No financial terms were disclosed.
